The 8473 model from the uvex sportsline range of safety shoes saw off stiff competition from over 5,000 entries to claim victory as the German Design Award Winner 2018 in the Industry category. The panel of judges of this prestigious industry award showed their recognition of the clever and attractive mix of flair, functionality, comfort and performance in the lightweight sportsline’s stylish design.

The Plus X Award is the world’s largest innovation award for technology, sports and lifestyle, given to the world’s finest brands and products. The uvex 2’s Best Product award in the Tools category reflects its unique concept – significantly reducing the level of stress on wearers' musculoskeletal systems.

This is the fourth award since 2016 for the uvex 2 range, which pushes the limits of safety footwear, and is testament to its extreme lightness, shock absorption, stability and climate optimisation.

In 2016 the uvex 2 also picked up an international iF World Design Gold Award, given to just 75 products out of more than 5,000 entries, and a Special Mention at the German Design Awards 2016.
