Sustainable safety shoe made from recycled materials

From the upper to the sole, the uvex 1 G2 planet offers both sustainability and performance in one - protect both yourself and the planet.

In accordance with DIN EN ISO 14021:2016, the uvex 1 G2 planet consists of 30% recycled materials in terms of weight*, when compared to other uvex 1 G2 models, without compromising its protective properties or comfort. Many of the shoe's components, such as the upper and insole, are made from 100% recycled materials. In addition, we use some of our own PU waste in the production of the outsole: up to 10% is used in the uvex x-tended grip planet and the injected polyurethane midsole contains up to 20% granulate made using PU waste from our production processes.

The uvex 1 G2 planet can be used for various applications and contributes effectively to environmental protection — following our motto protecting planet.

Midsole innovation: i-PUREnrj planet

uvex is the first company to have succeeded in using the direct injection process to integrate granulate made using polyurethane waste from production processes into the midsole of a safety shoe, and then to launch the fully-certified product on the market. This allows us to utilise less raw materials and to return PU waste to the shoe production cycle, without compromising the performance of our i-PUREnrj technology, which provides cushioning and energy return across the entire sole of the foot, helping reduce wearer fatigue.
